It is known for its blue-green to greenish-blue color, which is caused by small quantities of lead and water in the feldspar. Amazonite is a tectosilicate mineral with a triclinic crystal system and a hardness of 6.0–6.5 on the Mohs scale. It is found in limited locations around the world, including Russia, Colorado, and Madagascar.
