One of the most famous localities for this mineral is the Mibladen mining district in the Midelt Province of the Atlas Mountains. Morocco produces some of the finest and most sought-after Vanadinite specimens in the world.

Vanadinite is a lead chlorovanadate mineral with the chemical formula Pb5(VO4)3Cl. It belongs to the apatite group of minerals and crystallizes in the hexagonal system. Vanadinite forms in small hexagonal prismatic crystals, often with a hexagonal pyramid termination. The crystals can be well-formed and exhibit intricate growth patterns.
