The Nanisivik Mine was a zinc-lead mine located on Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada. It operated between 1976 and 2002, making it Canada’s first mine in the Arctic. The mine was situated 750 km (470 mi) north of the Arctic Circle and was known for its unique location and innovative operations.
