Rose Quartz Sphere (L) with asterism

A natural, polished rose quartz sphere with asterism. Rose quartz is a silicate mineral with a chemical formula of SiO2. It forms in a trigonal crystal system. The pink color of rose quartz is indeed attributed to the presence of manganese (Mn) and/or titanium (Ti) impurities.  The asterism in this sphere is due to the presence of aligned rutile needles, which showcases an asterism (X) when under direct light.

Quartz spheres have a rich history that spans back to ancient times. People believed that quartz could cleanse and energize environments, and it was often used in decorative and spiritual practices.
