Locality
Locality as indicated on the old stock tag of the 1980s was initially not found, as it was marked as Malkhan Mountains. It actually referred to the Malkhan pegmatite field, located south-east of Lake Baika. “The pegmatites were discovered in 1980 by Russian exploration geologists, and are known for recent production of pink to wine-red and polychrome elbaite, and other pegmatite minerals.” (source: mindat.org)
