Apache Tear is a variety of obsidian (volcanic glass). It has a glass-like quality to it, letting through light. These stones are most famously found in the southwestern United States, particularly in Arizona and Nevada. The name derives from the powerful mythology associated with this talisman, which associates the tears Native American women mourning the death of their warriors. It is a talisman to absorb negative energy.
