Dimension of Collecting - Crystal Collector Basics Course

The first module is all about the mineral industry itself, and how we are able to acquire all sorts of specimens nowadays. The second covers ways of collecting, giving you all sorts of different frameworks you may want to adopt, whether your collection is based off of mineralogy, or spirituality, or both. The last module goes more in depth in regards to what makes a valuable specimen, subjectively and objectively, in order for you to tailor your acquisitions according to what you like. 

Module 1: Mineral Industry Module  

We start off looking over how the mineral industry has participated in the expansion of culture and civilizations over time, and how we have arrived at a point where we can have access to so many mineral treasures in crystal shops. We will go over a few different industry branches that have formed, which lead us to different types of products on the market. We will go over the different places you can source your crystal specimens, inviting you to consider different acquisition sources, which can take you abroad or… out in nature!

We will also cover what comes into play in the realm of ethics when it comes to the acquisition of crystals that come from around the world, and the evolution of marketing strategies, particularly those aimed at spiritually-driven collectors.

Finally, we will look at the differences between Real, Fake and Everything in Between, making distinctions between the different types of synthetic crystals available on the market, as well as the history of synthetic stones and a few final remarks about willful and accidental disinformation.
